ERA’s Sponsored Family Riverside Walk 2026
It’s that time of year again! Will you join us on our annual riverside walk to raise funds to support our work, especially our E.coli testing in the River Rother and its tributaries?
We have been measuring E.coli levels above and below Wastewater Treatment Works (sewage works) and Pumping Stations, as well as at some other sites and are delighted to be receiving support from Portsmouth University, Centre for Environmental and Renewable Energy Solutions, with analysing our results and further developing this project. You can see all of our measurements to date here.
This year our sponsored walk will take place on Sunday 19 April, starting at 10:30.
Park in the National Trust car park at the junction of Woolbeding Lane and the A272. Then walk down Woolbeding Lane, over the river and into the field on the left at the Public Footpath sign.
The walk follows a particularly pretty stretch of the river from Woolbeding to Stedham and is a 6.5km (4 miles) round trip. Children are welcome, as are dogs on leads. Bring a picnic to enjoy by the river on our return!
If you would like to join our walk please email us at ecorotheraction@outlook.com to let us know. We will send you a sponsorship form that can use with your friends. Alternatively or additionally, if you would like to contribute directly you can do so on our GoFundMe page.
