Orange Turmeric Ice Cubes - great start to the morning, makes 18 small ice cubes

1 large orange, roughly peeled

1 lemon, roughly peeled

1 thumb ginger, peeled and roughly chopped

1 tsp turmeric, ground

1 tbsp agave or maple syrup

black pepper, pinch

cayenne pepper, pinch, (optional)

 

Put all in a high-speed blender and blend until smooth. Transfer to an ice cube tray and freeze. When ready to enjoy, place 3-4 cubes in a mug, pour hot water on top and sip!

 

Peanut Energy Balls - makes 12 balls

1/2 cup peanut butter

1/2 cup oats, gluten-free if required

1/3 cup protein powder, or 1/3 cup more oats

1/3 cup flax seeds, ground

1 tsp vanilla essence

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

2 tbsp dark chocolate, chopped into small pieces

2 tbsp pecan nuts, chopped into quarters

 

Gently mix all together in a mixing bowl with a spatula and then scoop out using a tablespoon measure and roll into 12 balls. Store in a sealed container in the fridge.
