Himalayan balsam pulling

A group of ERA volunteers got to work today pulling balsam near Elstead stream at Dumpford.

Himalayan balsam is an invasive non-native species (INNS) which disturbs the equilibrium of the local ecology, displacing local native species which have evolved together. By removing it before it seeds we are helping to control the spread.
