Sponsored walk for Fluidion
On Sunday, 6 April, at 11am, we will be holding a sponsored walk to raise funds to buy and use a Fluidion Alert One, a device which will allow us to supplement existing river surveys of the Rother and its tributaries with testing for bacteria, specifically E. coli. The walk will follow a particularly pretty stretch of the river from Woolbeding to Stedham.
To join the walk, park in the National Trust car park at the junction of Woolbeding Lane and the A272. Walk (carefully!) down Woolbeding Lane, over the river and turn into the field on your left at the Public Footpath sign, where we will meet up.
The length of the walk, round trip, is about 5km (3 miles). Children are welcome, as are dogs on leads!
Be warned that the path is muddy in places - boots or wellingtons are advised - and that it is not suitable for pushchairs. Depending on the level of the river, there might be a very shallow ford to cross at Stedham mill.
